PICT0170Troubadour uses the Creative Process to support development of students’ Literacy and 21st Century Skills.

Troubadour brings our highly qualified Teaching Artists into classrooms to work with students and demonstrate for teachers how to integrate literature, writing and music into the academic curriculum.

Students acquire new content and expand their knowledge in existing areas, and teachers develop a toolbox for sustaining knowledge in those areas and help make learning fun.

For over thirty years, we have worked with thousands of grades PreK-8 students and their teachers in more than 50 urban, suburban and rural Massachusetts communities. We adapt our writing program to address the specific needs and objectives of Regular and Extended Learning Classroom Time, and of After-School and Pre-School programs.

Victor Cockburn at City YearTeachers learn, too! Our Teaching Artists model innovative strategies, techniques and activities that align with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the Common Core Curriculum in English Language Arts and selected parts of the Social Studies and Arts Frameworks.

Troubadour uses both the Collaborative Coaching and Learning Model (CCL) and Partnership Teaching—two proven models—to design professional development trainings delivered as stand-alone sessions and integrated sessions.

The success of our programs is founded on over 30 years of working with urban, suburban and rural students of all backgrounds and abilities in more than 50 Massachusetts districts, including Boston, Brookline, Duxbury, Framingham, Lexington, Lowell, Newton, Rochester, Topsfield and Worcester.

Little Wings: Early Childhood Literacy Program
Designed for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms in schools, as well as for Community Day Care and After-School Programs.

Writers’ Residencies: Creative Arts and Enrichment

Professional Development Workshops
Single sessions and mini-series provide teachers with innovative approaches to integrating poetry, song lyrics and prose into the K-12 curriculum.
